From the very beginning, we have been determined to provide a clear career progression for everyone that works at Nero. The biggest opportunities are in our coffee houses, and every year we develop and promote hundreds of people.
Promoting from within is the Nero way. We are proud to say that over 90% of our fabulous Store Managers started out as Baristas. And many of our Store Managers have continued their personal development to Area Manager.
From Barista to Manager and beyond, you’ll receive clear and practical training – such as perfecting coffee making skills, people management and delivering a top rate customer experience in a supportive and structured way. We welcome and encourage everyone at Nero to contribute ideas and share feedback. We’re all in this together.
Training and Development
It takes about three years from starting to acquire the skills of the Barista to effectively running your own business. We stand by you from day one. Closer at first to show you the way. Then, as you progress from Barista to Shift Leader, we step aside a little to let you develop and grow.
As you move to Assistant Manager, we motivate and coach in equal measures. Our aim is to bring out the resourceful, enterprising business leader in you.
As Store Manager, you’re a custodian of the Caffè Nero way and running your own coffee house.
Finally, you could develop to become an Area Manager, taking the leap from single-site to multi-site management. You’ll be an inspiration to your team while consistently delivering the Caffè Nero brand to our customers.
